Air Wisconsin Passenger Loads Drop In November

Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp. of Appleton reported that paying passenger traffic dropped 14.8 percent in November.

Air Wisconsin, the largest privately held regional airline in the United States, said Sunday that its paying passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles, decreased to 147.5 million from 173 million in November 2007. A revenue passenger mile is one mile flown by a paying passenger.

For the year to date, paying passenger traffic is down 2.2 percent, at 1.95 billion revenue passenger miles.

The airline’s capacity, measured in available seat miles, decreased by 11 percent in November, to 219.8 million. The number of passengers in November decreased 15.4 percent to 392,981 from 464,786 in the same month a year ago.

Air Wisconsin has nearly 500 departures each day to 69 cities in 26 states and two Canadian provinces. It flies as US Airways Express and performs ground handling for United Express and Northwest Airlines.
